Engineer II / Senior Engineer

Role overview

Role responsibilities

• Originate or check outline and detailed designs for water and wastewater treatment units.
• Develop buildable design solutions and calculations to international codes of practice.
• Address technical queries and site requests for information; check calculations and drawings.
• Coordinate with project leads, design leads, and other disciplines.
• Meet UK health and safety requirements and CDM Regulations, incorporating design for safety.
• Follow quality procedures and deliver work on time, to quality standards, and within budget.
• Mentor graduate and assistant engineers.

Qualifications and experience

• Degree in Civil Engineering; a master's degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.
• More than five years of professional experience, including at least two years in water and wastewater.
• Experience with structural design for treatment units, reservoirs, pumping stations, retaining walls, outfalls, headworks, and related infrastructure.
• Experience with detailed design drawings, calculations, bar bending schedules, design reports, and concrete specifications.
• Experience across schematic design, detailed design, and site or construction support.
• Understanding of multidisciplinary interfaces and 3D design coordination.
• Familiarity with Eurocodes; international experience, particularly in the UK or Europe, is preferred.

Tools and desirable experience

• Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with Teams and SharePoint is noted.
• Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, and clash detection are listed as relevant 3D environment experience.
• Autodesk Robot, site layouts and drainage, earthworks, steel structures, seismic design, and precast concrete are desirable.
• Chartered Engineer status or working toward chartership, and experience training or mentoring, are desirable.
