The Engineer I performs hotel maintenance and responds to guest repair requests.
Maintenance and repairs
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspect tools, kitchen equipment, mechanical-room equipment, and other machines.
- Maintain inventory, requisition parts, and communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts.
- Carry out basic work involving HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, and building systems.
- Prepare and paint surfaces, complete minor drywall and trim repairs, replace bulbs and A/C filters, and clean repair areas.
- Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment, plumbing, electrical components, internet devices, and guestroom items.
- Program televisions and perform housekeeping and engineering inventory tasks.
- Repair interior and exterior landscaping and sprinkler systems; enter air-handler schedules and change temperatures using a computer.
Guest service and safety
- Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues.
- Locate and operate equipment and building utility shut-offs.
- Use Lockout/Tagout before maintenance and follow company safety, security, and quality procedures.
Qualifications
- A driver's license is required.
- Some general maintenance and surface preparation or painting experience is preferred; hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- The role involves lifting up to 50 pounds independently, heavier items with assistance, and using stairs, ramps, or ladders.
Workplace
- The position is full time and not remote; it is based at the hotel in Lusail, Qatar.
