Position details

Maintenance duties

• Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical-room equipment.
• Inspect tools and machines, operate shut-off valves, and maintain parts and supplies inventory.
• Perform minor painting, drywall, wood trim, lighting, A/C filter, plumbing, electrical, and guestroom repairs.
• Program televisions; maintain engineering inventory; make air-handler schedule and temperature changes.
• Repair landscaping and sprinkler systems, and use Lockout/Tagout before maintenance work.

Safety and guest service

• Follow company, safety, and security procedures; report hazards, accidents, injuries, and maintenance problems.
• Communicate work activities and issues across shifts.
• Welcome guests, address service needs, support colleagues, and maintain professional service standards.
• Move objects up to 50 pounds without assistance; heavier tasks are performed with assistance. The work also involves stairs, ramps, ladders, and bending or reaching.

Qualifications

• A driver’s license is required.
• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.
• Some general maintenance and surface preparation or painting experience is preferred.
• Hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.
• Basic knowledge or ability to learn building systems including HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, controls, carpentry, and kitchen equipment.
