Electrical Supervisor / HVAC Supervisor

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair work for electrical or HVAC systems.
• Allocate tasks, coordinate manpower, and monitor technician performance for timely completion.
• Review work orders, technical drawings, specifications, and maintenance schedules before execution.
• Inspect sites to verify work quality, system performance, and technical compliance.
• Diagnose faults and coordinate corrective action to minimize equipment downtime.
• Implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, quality standards, maintenance guidelines, and company policies.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, suppliers, and other departments to resolve technical issues.
• Monitor materials, tools, spare parts, and equipment availability; maintain records and technical documentation.
• Monitor progress, maintenance costs, work schedules, and team productivity; guide and train technicians.
• Electrical supervisors oversee wiring, power distribution, lighting, control panels, and electrical equipment maintenance.
• HVAC supervisors oversee air conditioning, ventilation equipment, chillers, air handling units, ductwork, and related maintenance.

Requirements

• A diploma or technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance, HVAC operations, installation, or facilities maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of relevant systems, equipment, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment specifications.
• Experience supervising technicians, coordinating work schedules, and managing maintenance activities.
• Good understanding of workplace safety, quality control, and maintenance best practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage tasks, deadlines, and technical issues.
• Microsoft Office proficiency, maintenance or technical reporting systems, relevant certifications, and experience in commercial, industrial, or construction settings are advantages.
