Our client is a leading importer, supplier, and trader of electrical products in the UAE, serving customers across the UAE and international markets.

The company specializes in a comprehensive range of electrical products, including electrical accessories, light fittings, cables, wires, pumps, marine products, switchgear components, and panel boards.

With a strong reputation in the industry, the organization has established long-standing relationships with contractors, distributors, consultants, and project stakeholders across the region.

Position Summary

The Business Development Manager – Electrical Trading will be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market share across the GCC and wider MENA region, and developing strategic relationships with manufacturers, distributors, contractors, consultants, and end-users.

The role requires a commercially driven professional with strong technical expertise in electrical products and a solid understanding of product compliance and certification requirements.

The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, expanding supplier partnerships, supporting product certification processes, and contributing to the company’s long-term growth strategy.

Business Development & Sales

Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities across the UAE, GCC, and African markets for the company's electrical product portfolio, including switchgear, cables, lighting, distribution boards, wiring accessories, and automation products.

Build and maintain strong relationships with EPC contractors, MEP consultants, utility authorities, developers, distributors, and key decision-makers.

Manage the complete sales cycle, including prospecting, technical presentations, proposal preparation, negotiations, contract closure, and account management.

Develop and execute territory plans and annual sales strategies aligned with business objectives.

Monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing movements, and emerging opportunities to provide strategic recommendations to management.

Achieve and exceed assigned revenue and profitability targets.

Product Certification & Regulatory Compliance

Coordinate with manufacturers, testing laboratories, certification bodies, and local authorities to obtain and maintain product approvals and certifications.

Manage the certification process for new and existing product lines, including documentation, testing coordination, submissions, approvals, and renewals.

Liaise with authorities such as DEWA, ADDC, SEC, and other relevant entities for product approvals and project specifications.

Maintain an up-to-date certification register and proactively monitor upcoming renewals and compliance requirements.

Support and educate internal teams and customers regarding product approvals, specifications, and compliance requirements.

Strategic Partnerships & Supplier Development

Identify, evaluate, and onboard new manufacturers and product lines that align with market demand and company growth objectives.

Negotiate distribution agreements, commercial terms, pricing structures, and supplier partnerships.

Work closely with procurement and inventory teams to optimize stock availability, demand forecasting, and lead-time management.

Develop strategic relationships with international suppliers and manufacturers to enhance the company’s product offering.

Tendering & Project Support

Review and prepare technical and commercial proposals, BOQ evaluations, and tender submissions for major infrastructure and construction projects.

Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to ensure compliance with project specifications and authority requirements.

Maintain and manage a healthy project pipeline through CRM systems and provide regular sales forecasts and pipeline reports.

Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Prepare monthly business development reports covering sales performance, project pipeline, market intelligence, certification status, and business opportunities.

Coordinate with finance teams on customer credit assessments and commercial approvals.

Work closely with logistics and procurement teams regarding import compliance, sourcing requirements, and country-of-origin regulations.

Represent the company at industry exhibitions, trade shows, conferences, and networking events.

Essential

7–12 years of experience in electrical trading, electrical distribution, project sales, or business development within the GCC region.

Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in a B2B environment.

Strong technical knowledge of:

Building Automation Solutions

Experience managing product certification and regulatory compliance processes.

Established network within the UAE electrical market, including MEP contractors, consultants, distributors, and procurement professionals.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.

Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Business Management.

MBA or additional commercial qualifications are advantageous.

Experience working with DEWA, ADDC, SEC, and other GCC utility approval authorities.

Familiarity with IEC, BSI, ANSI, CE, UKCA, and related industry standards.

Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent.

Arabic language skills would be an added advantage.

Valid UAE Driving License.
