Role Overview
Hands-on Electrical Competent Engineer role supporting utility and substation environments.
Lead site teams through installation, testing, migration, commissioning, and maintenance of DC power systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead installation, testing, commissioning, and migration of DC systems, rectifiers, DCDBs, power cables, and VCU units.
- Supervise VRLA, Ni-Cad, and lead-acid battery technologies and lifecycle management.
- Conduct load calculations, redundancy assessments, and system cutovers.
- Prepare and review MoS, ITPs, risk assessments, and technical documentation.
- Manage site teams and coordinate with clients, OEMs, and consultants.
- Ensure strict HSE compliance in live substation environments.
- Perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and brownfield upgrades.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in utility, transmission, or substation projects.
- Hands-on experience with DC power systems, rectifiers, DCDBs, batteries, and redundant systems.
- Brownfield upgrade experience is preferred.
- Experience with TAQA, TRANSCO, or similar projects is a plus.
- TAQA Competency Certification is advantageous.
Compensation
- Pay is AED 12,000–AED 15,000 per month.
