The Duty Engineer maintains and supports hotel engineering systems, including mechanical, electrical, and HVAC equipment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems for optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and promptly resolve technical faults and equipment failures.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to reduce breakdown risk.
- Respond to alarms, safety hazards, and other emergencies according to protocols.
- Keep records of equipment status, maintenance work, and incidents.
- Coordinate with other departments on operational and technical needs.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Support installation, commissioning, and testing of new equipment and systems.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, or a relevant field.
- Relevant technical certifications, such as HVAC, electrical safety, or mechanical maintenance, are listed as examples.
- Proven experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing engineering systems.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to work independently and handle emergencies calmly.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Computer literacy for logging reports and using maintenance management systems.
