Director, Quality Assurance

Position summary

Strategy and leadership

• Define enterprise QA and quality engineering strategy aligned with Technology and Product priorities; advise senior technology leadership on quality risk and strategy.
• Lead and scale a global QA organization through capability planning, organizational design, recruitment, succession, and development of managers and technical leaders.
• Foster shared accountability across Product and Technology; drive test-driven development and adoption of the Agentic Delivery Lifecycle.
• Establish consistent quality operating models, standards, and governance across product and engineering teams.

Quality engineering and delivery

• Advance automated testing frameworks, tools, maintainability, and CI/CD integration; establish risk-based functional, integration, regression, performance, reliability, and other non-functional testing.
• Partner early with Product and Engineering to improve requirements, acceptance criteria, testability, and quality by design.
• Set quality and release-readiness criteria and provide evidence-based risk recommendations; overall release decisions remain shared or advisory, not owned by this role.
• Define measures and use trends in escaped defects, customer-impacting defects, recurrence, automation effectiveness, flaky tests, and validation cycle time to drive improvement.
• Unify bug intake and execution processes in line with service level obligations; guide test tools, environments, and data with Engineering and Platform.
• Evaluate AI-assisted testing and other emerging capabilities responsibly; partner with Security and Compliance on control, documentation, and audit needs.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of progressive software QA or quality engineering experience, including at least five years leading teams and leaders.
• Experience building or transforming QA in a B2B SaaS or similarly complex software environment; success with test automation strategies and CI/CD quality controls.
• Strong understanding of cloud architectures, APIs, microservices, data integrations, and data-processing workflows.
• Experience in risk-based functional and non-functional testing, quality metrics, and translating data into executive-level insights.
• Experience leading distributed teams and developing managers, leads, and senior technical contributors.
• Executive communication, influence without direct authority, and judgment balancing customer impact, quality risk, delivery speed, and business priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
