Job Description

The Director of Hospital Operations for a Multi-Site Facility Management role is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the operational efficiency and strategic direction of multiple healthcare facilities.

This role requires an individual with in-depth knowledge of healthcare operations, regulatory requirements, and best practices in hospital management.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong track record of driving performance improvements, managing multidisciplinary teams, and implementing innovative strategies to enhance patient care while optimizing resource utilization.

This role necessitates exceptional leadership skills, a data-driven mindset, and the ability to foster collaborative relationships across various levels of the organization.

The Director will oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with healthcare standards, and work closely with executive leadership to develop and execute strategic initiatives that align with the organization’s goals and mission.

Job Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, ideally within a multi-site hospital or health system environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing operational changes that enhance service delivery while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Extensive experience in budget management, financial forecasting, and resource allocation within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrated experience in large-scale project management, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams through complex operational initiatives.
  • Expertise in data analytics and financial performance metrics, with the ability to utilize insights for decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills; able to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including executive leadership, clinical staff, and external partners.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with a focus on achieving operational excellence and enhanced patient outcomes.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of multiple healthcare facilities, ensuring optimal efficiency and quality of care in line with organizational objectives and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive operational strategies to enhance performance across all sites while adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of operational managers and staff across multiple locations to achieve organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders to establish and maintain high standards of patient care and safety; regularly assess clinical operational practices for improvement.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, analyze operational metrics, and implement changes to improve service delivery and reduce costs.
  • Drive initiatives to advance healthcare technology and streamline processes, enhancing patient experience and staff productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices in the management of healthcare operations.
  • Prepare and present operational reports to executive leadership, highlighting successes, challenges, and action plans for continuous improvement.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning within the organization and across multiple facilities.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, including suppliers and community partners, to support operational objectives and enhance service offerings.
