  • The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:
  • Define and lead the Learning & Development strategy for Jumeirah Burj Al Arab at a pivotal moment in its restoration journey, shaping the capability, mindset, and service culture required to relaunch one of the world’s most iconic luxury hotels.
  • Partner closely with the Director of HR and senior leadership team to translate the property’s restoration roadmap, operational readiness priorities, and renewed brand ambitions into a focused people-development agenda.
  • Lead high-volume onboarding, re-induction, and colleague integration with the discipline of a luxury pre-opening environment, ensuring every colleague is immersed in the Burj Al Arab legacy, service philosophy, brand rituals, and elevated guest experience standards.
  • Prepare leaders and colleagues for the next chapter of the property by building the behaviours, confidence, and operational capability required to deliver consistent, intuitive, and highly personalised service at scale.
  • Embed a refreshed culture of excellence across all functions, connecting learning to service consistency, colleague engagement, operational readiness, guest experience, and the successful reopening of a landmark luxury property.
  • Build a future-ready talent pipeline through succession planning, career development, and high-potential programmes that support business continuity, internal mobility, and leadership strength before, during, and beyond the restoration phase.
  • Champion innovation across the learning landscape, using modern learning solutions, digital tools, best practices, and measurable insights to enhance capability, colleague experience, service consistency, and overall business performance throughout the hotel’s transformation journey.

About You

  • The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, including at least 3–5 years in a leadership role within luxury hospitality.
  • Demonstrated success in designing and delivering leadership development, capability-building, and succession planning initiatives that strengthen organisational performance and prepare future leaders.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience partnering with senior leadership teams to drive organisational change, talent growth, and cultural transformation.
  • Passion for developing people and creating exceptional colleague experiences, combined with a forward-thinking approach to learning innovation, digital learning solutions, and modern development practices.
  • Strong commercial and operational awareness, with the ability to align learning priorities to business objectives, service excellence standards, and colleague engagement goals.
