Role Overview
Seeking an experienced Design Management leader to oversee the design and engineering function across large-scale real estate development projects.
The role will drive design excellence, technical governance, project delivery, value engineering, stakeholder management, and regulatory compliance from concept through project completion.
Design Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and manage multidisciplinary design and engineering teams.
- Establish design standards, governance frameworks, and approval processes.
- Drive innovation, sustainability, digital transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Project Design Management
- Oversee design development from concept, detailed design, IFC, and construction support stages.
- Ensure coordination between architecture, structural, MEP, infrastructure, and other disciplines.
- Resolve technical and design-related challenges to support project delivery.
Technical Review & Value Engineering
- Review and approve engineering solutions for quality, safety, constructability, and compliance.
- Lead value engineering and design optimization initiatives.
- Identify and mitigate technical and constructability risks.
Consultant & Stakeholder Management
- Manage consultants, contractors, and specialist vendors.
- Lead coordination meetings and ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Liaise with government authorities and stakeholders to secure approvals and maintain project progress.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
- Oversee technical documentation, consultant scopes, authority submissions, and project records.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline.
- Master's Degree (Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Planning, or MBA) preferred.
Experience
- 15–20+ years of experience in design and engineering management within real estate development.
- 7–8+ years in a senior leadership role managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and design through construction and handover.
- Strong background in mixed-use, residential, commercial, hospitality, or large-scale urban development projects.
- Experience managing consultants, engineering firms, and regulatory authorities.
- Exposure to GCC/UAE projects and authority approval processes is highly preferred.
