Job purpose

Design management and delivery

• Strategically plan design activities to deliver projects on schedule; monitor and control design work and implement corrective actions.
• Manage design resources and oversee time, cost, and quality performance.
• Maintain issue logs and track cost and schedule impacts during project execution.
• Track schedules and submit weekly progress reports to project and divisional managers and internal teams.
• Hold weekly internal progress reviews and document how design work will be executed, monitored, and controlled.
• Update weekly and monthly project design plans in consultation with the Project Manager; coordinate cost estimate and plan changes.
• Track and ensure timely client approvals for all MEP design works.
• Maintain daily design-team activity logs and historical records of design issues.
• Issue technical clearance for manufacturing, FAT, dispatch, and inspection-certificate activities related to client requirements.
• Work with the ESCO team to incorporate energy-saving measures into MEP designs.
• Provide internal and external technical training to develop team knowledge and design-department capability.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering; postgraduate study in either discipline is desired.
• At least 7 years of MEP design experience for residential and commercial towers and industrial buildings.
• At least 4 years of managerial experience in MEP design for residential and commercial towers and industrial buildings in the UAE or another GCC country.
• ESCO industry experience is preferred.

Knowledge and skills

• Knowledge of MEP systems, engineering and construction practices, and authority regulations.
• Proficiency in HAP, AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM, DIALUX, AMTECH, and CABLE PRO.
• Thorough HVAC, plumbing, and drainage design knowledge; strong electrical design and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build and lead teams producing efficient, cost-effective MEP designs.
• Willingness to conduct site visits and attend client meetings; valid UAE driving license required.
