Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Design Manager
to lead the design and governance of a portfolio of ultra-luxury residential, hospitality, mixed-use, and lifestyle developments.
The successful candidate will lead, ensuring design excellence, quality, compliance, and alignment with the project vision from concept through delivery.
This role requires close collaboration with consultants, stakeholders, project teams, and executive leadership to drive design outcomes across multiple high-profile developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design management process across all project phases from concept design through construction and project completion.
- Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary design consultants, ensuring timely delivery of design packages and project milestones.
- Lead design reviews, technical assessments, and governance processes to ensure compliance with project objectives and quality standards.
- Review design submissions for alignment with project vision, operational requirements, budgets, and schedules.
- Drive consultant performance and monitor design quality throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, project management teams, and external consultants to resolve design-related issues.
- Support the preparation of design briefs, RFPs, scopes of work, and consultant appointments.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, authority requirements, codes, and industry best practices.
- Present design recommendations, project updates, and key decisions to senior leadership.
- Manage project risks related to design, coordination, approvals, and delivery.
- Champion innovation, sustainability, and design excellence across the portfolio.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Urban Design, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience within architecture, design management, development, or project delivery environments.
- Proven experience managing large-scale luxury residential, hospitality, mixed-use, or destination developments.
- Strong client-side, developer, PMC, or design consultancy background.
- Demonstrated experience in consultant management, design reviews, design governance, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong understanding of design development, project delivery processes, authority approvals, and construction coordination.
- Experience working on high-profile or ultra-luxury developments within the GCC region is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
