Design Integration and Interface Manager(Rail)

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Interface Management Plan and Design Integration Strategy.
• Manage interfaces across civil, structural, rail systems, stations, and operational disciplines; maintain the interface register.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and integrate infrastructure, stations, rail systems, and operational environments.
• Manage airport interfaces including terminal integration, baggage handling systems, passenger flow, terminal access, and intermodal connections.
• Facilitate interface workshops and meetings with project teams, contractors, airport stakeholders, and authorities.
• Manage interface agreements, responsibilities, and deliverables among project parties and system providers.
• Align design outputs with project requirements, programme, and budget; support Systems Engineering and requirements flow-down.
• Coordinate interface traceability with Configuration and Requirements teams; identify and mitigate interface risks.
• Lead design reviews, coordinate approvals, monitor progress, and resolve interface issues promptly.
• Support construction and delivery teams by clarifying interfaces during implementation.

Required skills and qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field from a recognized university.
• 10 years of relevant experience in rail projects and/or rail operations; GCC or international experience is preferred.
• Proven design integration and interface management experience on large-scale rail or infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and complex system interfaces.
• Good understanding of rail systems, civil infrastructure, stations, and operational interfaces.
• Experience in airport integration, terminal operations, and intermodal transport systems.
• Experience with Systems Engineering processes, interface management methods, interface registers, and stakeholder alignment.
• Strong knowledge of design development stages and tender documentation.
• Excellent communication, coordination, stakeholder management, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant professional certification or institute membership is advantageous.
• Desired capabilities include collaboration across organizations, logical problem-solving, interfacing with project and client teams, and responding to sensitive inquiries.
