Position summary

Food preparation and quality

• Prepare special meals or substitutes and cook according to recipes, quality, presentation, and checklist standards.
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill, and roaster temperatures; thaw frozen food in refrigeration.
• Ensure correct portions, arrangement, and garnishes; prepare cold foods.
• Maintain food logs and monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food.
• Inform the Chef of surplus food for daily specials and service staff of menu specials and unavailable items.
• Communicate assistance needs during busy periods.

Team and workplace responsibilities

• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees; serve as a role model.
• Follow safety and security policies, report maintenance needs and unsafe incidents or conditions, and complete safety training and certifications.
• Protect confidential information and company assets; anticipate and address guest service needs.
• Build positive working relationships, support team goals, respond to colleagues' concerns, and maintain quality standards.
• Perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.

Preferred qualifications

• A technical, trade, or vocational school degree is preferred.
• At least three years of related work experience is preferred.
• No supervisory experience or license/certification is specified.

Physical and professional expectations

• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and communicate clearly and professionally.
• The role involves extended standing, sitting, or walking; reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping; and moving objects up to 25 pounds without assistance.
