About This Role

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator / Database Platform Specialist to manage and support enterprise database environments, ensuring high availability, security, performance, and operational reliability across critical business systems.

The role involves administration of Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL platforms , along with system troubleshooting, backup and recovery management, disaster recovery support, monitoring, and technical operations support.

The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in database administration, performance optimization, system monitoring, and operational support within enterprise production environments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Microsoft SQL Server Administration

  • Install, configure, patch, and maintain:
  • Standalone SQL Server environments
  • Clustered SQL Server environments
  • Manage:
  • Database log files
  • Backup and recovery operations
  • Database security hardening
  • Perform:
  • SQL performance tuning
  • Query optimization
  • Capacity management
  • Monitor database services, alerts, and availability

2. MySQL Database Administration

  • Install, configure, and maintain MySQL database environments
  • Perform:
  • Backup and recovery activities
  • Performance tuning and optimization
  • Ensure:
  • Database integrity
  • Availability
  • Security compliance

3. System Administration & Technical Support

  • Perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for database and system issues
  • Act as Tier II support for operational incidents and service degradation
  • Support escalation and event management procedures
  • Execute maintenance plans to maintain system reliability and SLA compliance
  • Upgrade and manage operating systems on production platforms

4. Backup, Recovery & Disaster Recovery

  • Maintain backup and restoration procedures and related documentation
  • Ensure regular execution and validation of backups
  • Maintain Disaster Recovery (DR) run books and failover procedures
  • Support DR drills, testing, and business continuity readiness

5. Monitoring & Performance Management

  • Monitor systems using enterprise monitoring tools such as SolarWinds
  • Analyze system and database performance metrics
  • Recommend and implement performance improvements
  • Ensure high availability and optimal performance of enterprise systems

6. Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to:
  • Operations
  • Maintenance activities
  • Disaster Recovery procedures
  • Configuration management
  • Conduct periodic reviews of Configuration Items (CIs) to ensure operational compliance and readiness
