The Data Engineer delivers data engineering solutions and builds infrastructure and systems for collecting, storing, processing, and analyzing data.
The role supports reliable, accessible data for data-driven applications and analytics.
Key responsibilities
- Design and build ETL pipelines that move data from varied sources into data warehouses or data lakes while supporting consistency and quality.
- Integrate databases, APIs, streaming platforms, and external data providers into a unified data ecosystem.
- Design data models for efficient querying, reporting, analytics, and machine learning.
- Use data warehousing technologies such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Snowflake to store and manage large datasets.
- Implement data validation and cleansing to ensure data accuracy and quality.
- Tune pipelines and databases for performance and scalability as data volumes grow.
- Implement security measures for sensitive data and data privacy compliance.
- Monitor pipelines and systems, troubleshoot issues, and perform maintenance to support data availability.
- Document data pipelines, schemas, and processes.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver data solutions.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computing or a similar field.
- At least 3 years of data engineering experience, with a strong focus on machine learning and statistical modeling.
- Azure or AWS certification is nice to have.
- Experience with data science and business intelligence tasks is nice to have.
