Role overview
Oversee operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical infrastructure at AWS data centers.
Join the Engineering and Facilities team to support customer availability and data center facility operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain data center technical infrastructure and facility operations.
- Follow safety standards, remediate risks, and lead safety initiatives and projects.
- Troubleshoot events within internal service-level agreements.
- Take routine equipment readings and log temperatures, voltages, currents, and other operational data.
- Supervise contractors performing servicing and preventive maintenance.
Technical equipment
- Equipment includes UPSs, switchgear, circuit breakers, automatic transfer switches, diesel generators, chillers, HVAC, exhaust fans, variable frequency drives, and transformers.
Work requirements
- Operational experience and familiarity with electrical and mechanical equipment are required.
- The role includes morning, late, and night shifts, plus an on-call rotation for off-duty emergencies.
- Manual handling and equipment lifting may be required.
- The role calls for initiative, self-management, adaptability, and willingness to learn changing processes.
