Role overview

Strategic engineering role in Eaton’s Global Data Centre organisation focused on evaluating emerging technologies, developing future infrastructure, and supporting next-generation mission-critical systems.

Works with Global Solutions Architects, Engineering, and Product Management to assess trends, validate concepts, and influence technical direction.

Focuses primarily on future capability development rather than design delivery, while retaining a strong engineering foundation through technical evaluation, validation, and studies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering leadership for LV, MV, UPS, energy storage, and other data center electrical systems and solutions.
  • Analyze electrical systems and processes, recommend improvements, and support vendor system approvals for programmatic purchases.
  • Provide customer design support and collaborate with design and bid, engineering, operations, and business teams on electrical projects.
  • Track industry trends and improve electrical design, implementation processes, and methodologies.
  • Work with local authorities to ensure compliance with IEC, EU requirements, and building codes.
  • Define project scope and support information requests before and during construction.
  • Represent Eaton externally, build relationships with clients and industry partners, and contribute to marketing activities.
  • Manage concurrent projects; support site reviews, field engineers, engineering evaluations, electrical audits, and startup as needed.

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronics engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience in data center systems design engineering.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities; customer-oriented technical advisory approach.
  • Familiarity and experience with NFPA 70 and UL design standards are highly desirable.
  • English proficiency; Arabic is a plus.
