Role overview

Full-time Data Automation Specialist in the Business Automation department, reporting to the General Manager – AI & Business Optimization.

The role improves business processes through data, AI, and automation and works with teams across the company.

The work focuses on business data, process improvement, and practical technology application rather than software development.

The role is hybrid, with in-office work and 20% flexibility to work from home.

Responsibilities

  • Understand business processes, information flows, pain points, and improvement opportunities with business teams.
  • Identify data quality, completeness, consistency, ownership, and accessibility issues; improve how data is captured and maintained.
  • Document processes, data sources, requirements, and improvement opportunities; analyze data for trends, gaps, and issues.
  • Assist with reports and dashboards used for operational and management decisions.
  • Identify processes suited to automation or AI and help design, configure, test, and improve solutions.
  • Support AI assistants and agents, gather user feedback, and verify results deliver intended improvements.
  • Support data governance, ownership, privacy, security, and information management; maintain clear documentation.
  • Research emerging AI, data, and automation capabilities and assess their practical business value.

Qualifications

  • Diploma, degree, certification, or equivalent practical experience in business technology, data analytics, information systems, business analysis, IT, data science, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant experience may come from employment, academic projects, internships, co-op placements, personal projects, or independent learning.
  • Experience with business processes, data, analytics, automation, or AI is an asset.
  • Experience with data visualization and SQL or relational data is an asset.
  • Experience with MS 365, Power BI, Power Automate or similar platforms; generative AI tools, copilots, or AI agents.
  • Experience and knowledge of data governance and information management.
