The analyst enables, integrates, and provides operational support for Air Canada's enterprise data governance platform.
The role supports user onboarding, source-system integration, metadata ingestion, and trusted metadata and lineage.
The platform enables governance, compliance, analytics, and AI initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Implement and support integrations between the governance platform and enterprise systems.
- Configure, maintain, and document metadata ingestion, lineage, workflows, and platform capabilities.
- Develop API-based and custom integrations for metadata management and automation.
- Define metadata mappings, ingestion standards, and integration documentation.
- Support onboarding, training, and adoption across business and technical teams.
- Troubleshoot integration, lineage, and metadata quality issues.
- Collaborate to improve metadata coverage, governance processes, and platform usage.
Qualifications
- University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise data and metadata integrations.
- Experience with enterprise governance, metadata management, or data catalog platforms.
- Experience configuring metadata connectors and ingestion pipelines and implementing API-based integrations.
- Experience developing custom integrations with Python, Java, or REST APIs.
- Strong understanding of metadata management, data lineage, and data modelling.
- Ability to define metadata mappings, ingestion standards, and governance requirements.
- Experience troubleshooting integration, connector, and metadata quality issues.
- Strong documentation, communication, stakeholder management, punctuality, and dependability.
Platforms and additional assets
- Examples of data governance platforms include Microsoft Purview, Atlan, Collibra, Databricks Unity Catalog, and Alation.
- Knowledge of Snowflake, Dataiku, and Power BI and their integration with governance platforms is an asset.
