The team also enables Data Science, AI and Machine Learning initiatives through its Data Warehouse and Data Lake platforms.
Contract
- Fixed-term contract through September 2027.
Responsibilities
- Design and build data feeds and related applications in an agile scrum team.
- Write, test and peer-review ETL code in Oracle ODI and Snowflake.
- Configure self-service data environments in the Snowflake data lake with business users.
- Develop and manage BI reports; support data quality, reconciliation, testing and governance.
- Release and support software, provide production support, and coordinate UAT requirements sign-off.
- Assist with prioritisation and estimation; deliver warehouse/lake ETL, third-party data transfers, insights and process improvements.
Minimum criteria
- Experience designing and building data warehouses or lakehouses with ETL/ELT tools; Oracle ODI is preferred.
- Strong database development with Snowflake, Oracle and/or PostgreSQL; strong SQL and dimensional modelling skills.
- Experience with JSON, XML and CSV; translating business requirements into BI and data solutions.
- Agile delivery experience and practical experience developing and supporting cloud data solutions.
- Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration, analytical problem-solving, organisation and adaptability.
Desirable experience
- AWS services, Terraform, DMS, Lambda, Step Functions or S3; dbt model development and testing.
- AI prompting for data engineering, testing and optimisation; machine learning or data science, including Python.
- Oracle OAS or Power BI, and customer or vehicle data experience.
Workplace
- The organisation operates hybrid working, with office and home working in the UK and remote work up to two days per week.

The Data Engineer joins the Data team in the Customer product area, working with Data Engineers, Quality Engineers and business colleagues in an Agile, product-led environment.
