Role overview

The QA Data Analyst maintains the quality of automotive parts, vehicle, labor, and interchange catalog data.

This mid-level P3 individual-contributor role works with limited supervision in a catalog data operations team.

The goal is accurate, complete catalog content that customers can use, with high coverage, few defects, and timely updates.

Work arrangement

  • Klipboard describes a hybrid policy with three days in the office and two days working from home.

Catalog data responsibilities

  • Load, review, and prioritize catalog updates covering parts, vehicles, and interchange information.
  • Extract and validate ACES and PIES XML feeds; verify labor and specification data, component diagrams, and part interchange.
  • Maintain part types and product categories; publish and recommend retained parts based on data review.
  • Use Excel and analysis tools to cleanse and validate large data volumes.
  • Configure the catalog through installation, basic setup, part search, and user emulation.
  • Develop data-conversion scripts and tools using intermediate transformation techniques.
  • Query and analyze complex relational database structures.
  • Apply ACES, PIES, and Partslink standards and maintain catalog data governance.
  • Investigate, prioritize, and remediate data-quality issues and conduct quality assurance on catalog systems and underlying data.
  • Respond to routine customer data queries and help ensure content meets customer needs and reduces coverage gaps.

Expertise

  • Apply strong data literacy, including data concepts, terminology, and structures.
  • Demonstrate intermediate database knowledge and data-transformation capability.
  • Bring sound automotive parts knowledge and a developing understanding of industry trends and market dynamics.
  • Understand tire-data fundamentals, terminology, and processes, using intermediate tools to acquire and amend tire product data.
  • Maintain rigorous attention to detail in data entry and analysis.

Systems and standards

  • The role uses Excel, relational databases, catalog configuration systems, and data-analysis tools.
  • Day-to-day catalog work applies ACES, PIES, and Partslink standards.
  • The role uses intermediate data-transformation techniques and scripts for data conversion.

Expected outcomes

Deliver high-quality, high-coverage catalog data to schedule.

Reduce data defects and resolve issues faster.

Provide accurate ACES/PIES extraction, quality assurance, and publication.
