Role overview

The QA Data Analyst maintains and assures the quality of automotive catalog data, including parts, vehicle, labor, and interchange information.

The role loads, reviews, and validates catalog data; extracts and transforms industry-standard formats; and resolves data-quality issues with limited supervision.

This is a mid-level P3 individual-contributor role balancing hands-on data-quality work with automotive and technical expertise.

Success includes accurate, complete, customer-ready catalog data, high coverage, few defects, and timely updates.

Catalog data responsibilities

  • Load, review, and prioritize catalog updates so parts, vehicle, and interchange information remains accurate and complete.
  • Extract and validate data from ACES and PIES XML feeds.
  • Verify labor and specification data, component diagrams, and part interchange.
  • Maintain part types and product categories; publish and recommend retained parts based on data review.
  • Cleanse, review, and validate large data volumes using Excel and data-analysis tools.
  • Configure catalogs through installation, basic setup, part search, and user emulation.
  • Develop and apply scripts and tools for data conversion using intermediate transformation techniques.
  • Query and analyze complex relational database structures and apply ACES, PIES, and Partslink standards.
  • Investigate, prioritize, and remediate data-quality issues; conduct quality assurance across catalog systems and underlying data.
  • Uphold data-quality standards and governance across deliverables.
  • Respond to routine customer data queries and help ensure catalog content meets customer needs and reduces coverage gaps.
  • Deliver high-quality catalog data to schedule, reduce defects, and resolve data issues more quickly.

Expertise and capabilities

  • Apply strong data literacy, including data concepts, terminology, and structures.
  • Analyze data trends and patterns to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Bring intermediate database knowledge and data-transformation capability.
  • Apply automotive parts knowledge and develop understanding of industry trends and market dynamics.
  • Understand tire-data fundamentals, terminology, and processes and use tools to acquire and amend tire product data.
  • Work as a fully competent individual contributor with limited supervision and maintain rigorous attention to detail.

Systems, tools, and standards

  • Use Excel and data-analysis tools to cleanse, review, and validate catalog data.
  • Work with relational databases and catalog configuration systems.
  • Apply ACES, PIES, and Partslink catalog standards.
  • Use intermediate data-transformation techniques and develop scripts and tools for data conversion.
