Beacon Red seeks a Cyber Security Engineer to support and deliver cybersecurity services across offensive and defensive programs.
The work emphasizes analysis, problem solving, ownership, and independently driving tasks and projects from scoping through delivery.
Responsibilities
- Work internally and with customers, building trusted stakeholder relationships.
- Lead or independently deliver components of penetration testing and red teaming.
- Contribute to investigations and incident response, applying offensive insight to defensive problems.
- Conduct security assessments that identify systemic risks as well as isolated findings.
- Continue training and developing skills to keep pace with emerging threats and techniques.
- Write and present clear technical reports to technical and executive audiences.
Basic qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field.
- Solid understanding of operating systems, file systems, networking fundamentals, and web applications and related technologies.
- Intermediate understanding of security topics and practical knowledge of penetration-testing techniques and methodology.
- Understanding of investigative techniques and incident-response methodology.
- English proficiency is required for roles unless otherwise stated.
Preferred qualifications
- Relevant certifications such as OSCP, OSEP, GPEN, or equivalent may be preferred or required depending on team standards.
- Offensive-security tools and frameworks may include Burp Suite, Metasploit, Cobalt Strike or equivalent C2 frameworks, BloodHound, Impacket, and Nmap.
- Scripting and automation ability in at least one language such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash is preferred.
