They are looking for a highly analytical and experienced Cost Controller to join their finance team.
Role Summary
The Cost Controller will safeguard financial health across all branches.
The role monitors, analyzes, and controls all food, beverage, and operational costs.
The role works closely with the executive chef, branch managers, and procurement team to maximize yield, minimize waste, and drive profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly food and beverage cost reports, highlighting variances and providing actionable insights to management.
- Oversee and coordinate end-of-month inventory counts across all branches.
- Conduct random spot checks on inventory, receiving, and storage areas.
- Collaborate with the culinary and beverage teams on recipe costing, pricing strategies, and yield testing for both food and specialty coffee items.
- Track and analyze wastage, spoilage, and void reports, implementing procedures to reduce discrepancies.
- Review purchasing orders and supplier invoices to ensure alignment with negotiated contracts and market prices.
- Maintain and update the POS and inventory management systems with accurate recipe and pricing data.
- Ensure all branches adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) regarding cash handling, receiving, and stock transfers.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Cost Controller specifically within the restaurant, hospitality, or specialty coffee industry.
- Multi-branch experience is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in F&B inventory and POS software, ERP (e.g., Micros, Revel, MarketMan, Foodics), and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Deep understanding of food and beverage yields, recipe costing, and supply chain logistics.
- Strong analytical mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial data clearly to non-financial operational staff.
