Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cost Control Engineer to join our project team in Doha.

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing cost control procedures, monitoring project expenditures, preparing forecasts, and ensuring project costs remain aligned with approved budgets.

The role requires strong analytical skills and extensive experience in road and infrastructure projects, particularly Ashghal projects.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Cost Control Engineering.
  • Proven experience in construction, road, and infrastructure projects.
  • Mandatory experience in Ashghal Road Projects.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of project cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Experience in cost variance analysis, earned value management, and KPI reporting.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly JD Edwards.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of cost control software and forecasting techniques.

Mandatory Criteria

  • Experience in Ashghal Road Projects is mandatory.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple project teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain project cost control plans, budgets, and cost reports.
  • Monitor actual project costs against budgets, analyze variances, and identify cost trends.
  • Develop cost forecasts and cash flow projections, highlighting deviations and risks.
  • Coordinate with project teams to validate cost data and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage cost coding and ensure proper allocation of costs to work breakdown structures (WBS).
  • Analyze committed costs, accruals, and booked costs to identify discrepancies and variances.
  • Monitor project performance through CPI, SPI, CV, and SV metrics.
  • Develop and issue KPIs related to productivity, resource utilization, cost allocation, and project performance.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier costs and support cost optimization initiatives.
  • Assist with change management by assessing cost impacts and maintaining contingency allocations.
  • Conduct cost risk analyses and support continuous improvement of cost control systems.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior cost engineers.
