Lead cost control for major engineering and construction projects in Riyadh.
Track, analyze, and control project costs to support delivery within budget through monitoring, forecasting, variance identification, and corrective action.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement project cost-control systems, procedures, and reporting tools.
- Prepare cost reports and cash flow forecasts; compare actual costs with budgets and monitor expenditures.
- Collect cost data for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors with project teams.
- Review and validate contractor and supplier invoices and payment certificates.
- Identify cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Support project budgets, estimates, planning, and scheduling with cost input.
- Produce periodic reports and present findings to stakeholders.
- Support risk analysis and cost-related mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with procurement and contracts departments on cost issues.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Architecture), Construction Management, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of cost-control experience; construction experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in cost-control software such as Primavera P6, MS Excel, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, communication abilities, interpersonal skills, and attention to reporting accuracy.
Preferred skills and credentials
- CCP, PMP, or another professional certification is a plus.
- Experience with Earned Value Management is preferred.
- Familiarity with project-management frameworks and contract management is preferred.
