Position Overview

Core Responsibilities

• Transport freight between stations and hub facilities safely and with urgency.
• Pick up and deliver large skidded freight and multi-piece skidded shipments.
• Operate powered material handling equipment for loading, weight balancing, and sequencing unit loading devices.
• Complete pickup and delivery processes and standard customs paperwork when assigned.
• Inspect unit loading devices for FAA airworthiness.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Class AZ or Class 1 driver's licence with a good driving record.
• Air brake certification, unless included with a Quebec Class 1 licence.
• Current certification in dangerous goods handling, material handling equipment operation, ULD inspection, and t-stacking.
• Ability to pass provincial transportation physicals and written tests.
• Ability to comply with FAST customs and criminal background check regulations.
• Ability to obtain certification from a company-approved driver training institution.

Knowledge and Skills

• Professional driving ability, geographical knowledge, map-reading ability, and knowledge of inter-provincial regulations.
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures and ramp procedures.
• Mechanical aptitude, customer service skills, multitasking ability, and road-based organizational skills.
• Knowledge of TORTES, FAMIS, and other Windows-based applications.
• Cosmos experience is an asset.

Additional Conditions

• Drivers may be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including mandatory pre-hire testing for DOT cross-border drivers.
• Drivers must complete required training, testing, periodic accreditations, and other assigned duties.
• Quebec-based incumbents must be bilingual in French and English.
