Role overview

Food preparation and cooking

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, cutting, storing, washing, peeling, measuring, and mixing.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food-preparation checklists; prepare cold foods as needed.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers; test food for doneness and monitor food quality.
• Organize food work areas and portion and plate food in appropriate containers.

Kitchen safety and upkeep

• Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, tables, utensils, knives, and equipment; check appliance and food temperatures.
• Follow company safety and security procedures and report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to a manager.
• Complete safety training and other reasonable duties requested by a supervisor.

Preferred qualifications and working conditions

• At least one year of related work experience and a high school diploma or GED equivalent are preferred.
• No supervisory experience is specified as a qualification.
• The role involves extended periods standing, sitting, and walking, plus bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, and reaching overhead and below the knees.
• Able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Maintain professional appearance, protect confidential information and company property, communicate clearly, and work positively with the team.
