Cook role in the Food and Beverage & Culinary category; listed as full time, non-management, and not remote.
Food preparation and cooking
- Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, measuring, and mixing.
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and preparation checklists; prepare cold foods.
- Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, and test food to confirm it is adequately cooked.
- Monitor food quality during preparation and portion food into appropriate containers.
Kitchen operations and safety
- Set up and clean work areas; clean and sanitize kitchen areas, tables, utensils, knives, and equipment.
- Check that equipment and food are at appropriate temperatures.
- Follow company and safety and security policies; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to a manager.
- Complete safety training and certifications and perform other reasonable duties as directed.
Physical and workplace expectations
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or throughout a shift; reach overhead and below the knees, bend, twist, pull, and stoop.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
- Maintain professional appearance and communication, protect confidential information and company property, and work positively with the team.
Preferred qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- At least one year of related work experience preferred.
- No supervisory experience or license or certification is specified.
