Key responsibilities
- Manage construction activities for new data centre builds and capital projects, owning scope, schedule, and budget.
- Deliver high-quality data centres on time while reducing costs and schedules without compromising quality.
- Manage initiatives to improve data centre resilience and review constructability of electrical and mechanical systems and building designs.
- Create project scopes and equipment requirements and assist with requests for proposals and capital requests.
- Oversee project quality, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and project execution.
- Manage construction Requests for Information and coordinate construction administration with engineers.
- Report key metrics and lead collaboration with internal and external project teams and contractors.
- Visit data centre sites for systems audits, reviews, startup testing, and commissioning as required.
Basic qualifications
- Experience delivering construction for data centres, mission-critical facilities, or equivalent industrial or manufacturing facilities.
- 10 or more years of construction or project management experience.
- Hold or be able to attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance.
Preferred qualifications
- Project management experience or experience working in a data centre or mission-critical facility is preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Structural, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- Knowledge of Australian fire, building, energy-efficiency, sanitary, and safety codes is preferred.
Work setting
- The role is project-based and spends most of the week on site working closely with vendors; travel to data centre sites is required as needed.
