Food preparation and quality
- Prepare special meals or substitute items; regulate ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
- Retrieve frozen food for thawing in the refrigerator; ensure correct portions, arrangement, and garnish; maintain food logs.
- Monitor food quality and quantity and prepare and cook food, including cold foods, to recipes and quality, presentation, and checklist standards.
- Communicate assistance needs during busy periods; tell the Chef about excess food for specials and service staff about specials and out-of-stock items.
Team and safety
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees; serve as a role model.
- Follow company and safety procedures, complete safety training, and report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions.
- Maintain professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, anticipate guest needs, and build positive working relationships.
- The role involves extended standing, sitting, or walking; reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, and handling objects up to 25 pounds without assistance.
- Support team goals, meet quality expectations, and perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.
Preferred qualifications
- Technical, trade, or vocational school degree preferred.
- At least 3 years of related work experience preferred.
- No supervisory experience or license or certification is specified.
