Prepare breads and pastries and cook food to recipes and required quality and presentation standards.
This is a full-time, non-management position at the St. Regis property in Palm Jumeirah, Dubai; the listing says it is not remote.
Pastry and kitchen duties
- Prepare doughs and fillings, proof and bake products, and decorate them as appropriate.
- Review production sheets and prepare the daily assortment of baked goods.
- Use baking and measuring tools and equipment safely; check food and kitchen-appliance temperatures.
- Monitor food quality and portions, report equipment issues, and tell the Chef about excess food for daily-special planning.
Qualifications and physical requirements
- At least 2 years of related work experience is listed as preferred.
- A technical, trade, or vocational school degree is listed as preferred.
- No supervisory experience is required.
- The role includes lifting or moving up to 25 pounds and extended standing, sitting, walking, reaching, bending, and moving over uneven or slippery surfaces.
Food safety and workplace standards
- Maintain kitchen logs and follow food-safety, food-handling, and personal-hygiene procedures.
- Comply with quality, company, safety, and security standards; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions.
- Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality, communicate professionally, and support positive team relationships.
Team support
- Assist with employee hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching.
- Serve as a role model or mentor and perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.
