Role Overview
Daikan Hospitality Group operates a growing portfolio of Japanese-inspired restaurants across the UAE, including izakaya dining, handcrafted cocktails, and fast-casual ramen concepts.
The Commis I joins the culinary team at Daikan Izakaya, Galleria Mall.
The ideal candidate possesses extensive expertise in Japanese cuisine and proven experience in high-volume restaurant operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing ingredients by peeling, chopping, and slicing under the direction of senior chefs.
- Support the kitchen team during service by helping with cooking and plating dishes following established standards and recipes.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation adhering to strict hygiene and sanitation practices.
- Participate in training sessions and learn various cooking techniques and methods.
- Assist with the organization and inventory of kitchen supplies, ensuring ingredients are stored properly and tracked for freshness.
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy service times.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary training is preferred but not mandatory.
- A strong desire to learn and develop skills in Japanese cuisine.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Able to work collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and manage time effectively.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.
