Commercial Manager (Cost & Forecasting)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Reflect operational plans, supplier commitments, actual expenditure and contractual change accurately in the financial position.
• Provide budgets, forecasts, variance analysis and commercial insight.
• Maintain cost, revenue, margin and change visibility, including Estimate to Complete and Estimate at Completion positions.
• Interrogate complex data, explain variances and identify forward financial risks.
• Work with the Supply Chain & Procurement Commercial Manager and communicate with operational, commercial and client stakeholders.

Requirements

• Strong project cost management, commercial controls or financial forecasting experience; experience in logistics, construction, infrastructure or a comparable major programme.
• Advanced budgeting, forecasting and cost-to-complete capability; experience maintaining Estimate to Complete and Estimate at Completion positions.
• Knowledge of accruals, commitments, month-end reporting and financial reconciliation; experience tracking revenue, cost, margin and contract change.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, Excel and financial modelling; ability to explain variance and identify financial risk.
• Relevant commercial, cost-management, quantity-surveying or finance qualification, or equivalent experience.
• NEC contract knowledge, preferably NEC3, is desirable. A relevant degree and RICS, AAT, CIMA, ACCA or another professional qualification are also desirable.
• CITB HS&E Managers and Professionals certificate (MAPS) must be obtained before starting.

Compensation and benefits

• Salary starts at £70,000, depending on experience, with an 8.65% bonus and travel and lodge allowance.
• Benefits include 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, life assurance, company sick pay, a pension with 5% employer contribution, employee benefits and an employee assistance programme.

Schedule

• Working pattern is Monday to Friday.

Site information

• The role is associated with Sizewell C and includes site-specific vetting requirements.
• Candidates must provide a three-year work, unemployment and education history for vetting under SZC protocols and be able to obtain the SZC pass.
