Ramp Driver

Permanent Location: Gatwick Airport Hours: Part time, 4 on, 4 off, varied hours, 21 hours a week Pay: £16.74 ph

At Wilson James, we pride ourselves on creating safe, secure and welcoming environments for our clients and customers. We are currently seeking professional, customer-focused Ramp Drivers to join our Passenger Services team at Gatwick Airport.

This is a rewarding role where you will play a vital part in supporting passengers with reduced mobility, ensuring they receive a safe, dignified and seamless journey through the airport and to their aircraft.

As a Ramp Driver, you will operate specialist airport vehicles, including ambi-lifts and minibuses, transporting passengers with reduced mobility between the terminal and aircraft. You will also provide hands-on assistance within the airport, helping passengers navigate their journey while delivering exceptional customer service.

Safely operate ambi-lifts, minibuses and associated passenger-service equipment.

Assist passengers with reduced mobility throughout the airport and during boarding and disembarkation processes.

Support passengers with baggage and mobility aids when required.

Ensure all vehicles and equipment are maintained, checked and kept clean in accordance with company procedures.

Maintain accurate operational records and complete required documentation.

Deliver outstanding customer service while complying with airport, safety and regulatory requirements.

Work collaboratively with operational teams to ensure flights depart and arrive efficiently.

Essential Requirements

Full driving licence with Category C and D entitlement, held for a minimum of two years.

Aged 23 or over for insurance purposes.

Ability to obtain an airside driving permit and pass the required medical and colour vision assessments.

Desirable

Previous airport or airline experience.

Experience driving larger vehicles or working at height.

Additional language skills.
