Cloud Operations Head

Position objective

Operations and governance

• Define cloud operations strategy aligned with telecom and IT transformation initiatives, including 5G, NFV, and cloud-native technologies.
• Establish hybrid and multi-cloud operating models aligned with business, network, and digital service objectives.
• Oversee 24/7 cloud operations; ensure high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Govern incident, problem, and change management and adherence to SLAs, SLOs, and KPIs.
• Standardize platform architecture and operational practices; drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Transformation and service delivery

• Develop the cloud operations transformation plan and execution strategy; assess current operations and define target operating models.
• Develop roadmaps for cloud migrations and deployments.
• Coordinate capacity planning and resource forecasting to meet telecom service demand.
• Optimize cloud resource utilization, cost efficiency, reliability, and performance.
• Prevent infrastructure failures and performance degradation, and evaluate technologies that improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability.

Security, teams, and finance

• Oversee audits, risk management, and compliance; ensure security practices, regulatory requirements, and industry standards are followed.
• Implement access controls, data encryption, and network security; conduct vulnerability assessments, security reviews, and audits.
• Coordinate cloud infrastructure integration with telecom network and systems engineering teams; guide internal stakeholders on cloud issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and manage vendor, partner, and service-provider relationships and SLAs.
• Contribute to annual OPEX budgeting, TCO analysis, and cost optimization.

Qualifications and experience

• Master's or bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 20+ years in IT and telecom infrastructure operations; 10+ years leading cloud, infrastructure, or platform operations teams.
• Strong telecom experience, including 5G, NFV, OSS, and BSS platforms; track record leading large-scale cloud transformation and modernization.
• Strategic planning, leadership, execution, executive communication, presentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Experience leading large, geographically distributed, multi-vendor teams.
• Technical knowledge of telecom technologies, cloud platforms, virtualization, containerization, and cloud-native architectures.

Preferred certifications

• Relevant cloud certifications such as AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenShift, Kubernetes, or equivalent are highly desirable.
