Cowan Insurance Group is hiring a Claims Representative reporting to the Manager, Claims.
The role manages and resolves new and existing property, auto, and liability claims for clients.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary client contact throughout claims and provide timely, professional service by phone and online reports.
- Review coverage, explain the claims process, and set expectations with customers.
- Maintain regular contact with customers and insurers to meet claim milestones; advocate for customers on claim issues and coverage decisions.
- Maintain claims system records and collaborate with Account Managers and internal service teams.
Qualifications
- At least 3–5 years of insurance experience; claims and customer service experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of personal and/or commercial property, auto, and liability policies; high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must interpret policy wording and explain it clearly to clients; strong organizational, negotiation, analytical, interpersonal, communication, and time-management abilities.
- Microsoft Office proficiency and strong data entry skills required.
- RIBO license or ability to obtain one; CAIB or CIP designation or progress toward either is an asset.
Workplace
- The position is described as hybrid.
Compensation
- Expected base salary range is $45,700 to $64,000; final compensation depends on experience, qualifications, skills, knowledge, and internal equity.
