Civil Inspector ( Steel & Warehouse)

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect civil and structural works on-site to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, and relevant Dubai Municipality regulations, UAE codes, and authority standards.
• Monitor contractor activities through regular site inspections, testing, and verification of workmanship quality.
• Review and process Inspection Requests (IRs) in coordination with the engineering team and discipline leads.
• Inspect and monitor steel structure works, including fabrication, erection, bolting, welding, and structural alignment activities.
• Review and interpret contract documents, specifications, drawings, and project HSE requirements.
• Evaluate method statements, material submittals, shop drawings, and fabrication drawings for compliance with project requirements.
• Verify structural steel materials, warehouse construction components, and associated civil works comply with approved specifications and standards.
• Maintain daily site records including contractor manpower, equipment usage, progress updates, and site conditions.
• Document site observations covering construction methods, executed works, materials used, and compliance status.
• Conduct site inspections as directed by the Resident Engineer (RE) / Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) and ensure timely closure of site instructions.
• Support quantity verification and site measurement activities when required.
• Ensure contractor compliance with project Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and approved welding procedures.
• Coordinate with structural engineers, QA/QC personnel, and contractors to resolve site issues and technical queries.
• Monitor health, safety, and environmental compliance on-site and report any non-conformities immediately.
• Prepare clear, accurate, and timely inspection reports and maintain proper project documentation records.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma in Civil Engineering (Bachelor’s Degree preferred for career progression).
• Minimum 7 years of overall experience, with at least 5 years of UAE experience in a consultancy supervision role.
• Mandatory experience in steel structure and warehouse projects within the UAE.
• Proven experience in industrial buildings, logistics facilities, warehouses, factories, distribution centers, and steel-framed structures.
• Strong knowledge of civil and structural works including foundations, reinforced concrete, structural steel erection, welding inspection, bolted connections, paving works, and external infrastructure works.
• Familiarity with Dubai Municipality regulations, UAE building codes, international standards, and structural steel construction practices.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, site inspection practices, material testing requirements, and construction methodologies for steel structures.
• Certification in relevant inspection disciplines and familiarity with welding inspection standards will be an added advantage.
