Responsibilities
- Inspect the installation of utility systems, ensuring proper alignment, levels, and gradients
- Verify that all works comply with approved designs, specifications, and industry standards
- Monitor materials and workmanship to ensure top notch quality
- Witness and verify system testing (e.g., pressure testing for pipelines, flow testing for drainage)
- Oversee the commissioning of utility systems to ensure they are fully operational and meet project requirements
- Work closely with contractors, subcontractors, and utility service providers to address any issues
- Liaise with project engineers and managers to resolve discrepancies and implement design changes
- Ensure all utility works are carried out safely and in compliance with regulations
- Monitor environmental practices, such as waste disposal and stormwater management
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in utility systems inspection
- Strong knowledge of utility systems (water, drainage, sewerage, electrical, gas, telecom)
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes (e.g., ASTM, BS, ISO, or local regulations)
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting utility drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for utility works
- Experience with trenching, excavation, and backfilling processes

What You'll Be Doing
