Position Overview
Lead global and regional procurement and strategic sourcing for a large, multi-market food and FMCG business.
Report to the CEO and drive procurement excellence, cost optimization, supplier partnerships, and supply-chain resilience across multiple geographies.
The role combines strategic leadership with execution and calls for experience managing substantial procurement spend and transforming large procurement organizations.
Experience in complex international sourcing, particularly protein and critical food categories, and digitalization or AI-led transformation is advantageous.
Global Procurement and Commercial Leadership
- Lead global and regional procurement across direct and indirect categories and manage significant multi-country spend.
- Develop sourcing strategies across a diverse, multi-SKU portfolio to optimize cost, quality, availability, and supply continuity.
- Drive strategic negotiations, supplier partnerships, category management, and supplier consolidation.
- Partner with the CEO and senior leaders to align procurement strategy with business objectives.
- Build and professionalize procurement capabilities across geographies and categories; lead a large, multi-layered team.
- Improve total cost of ownership, working capital, procurement efficiency, and supplier performance; establish governance, spend visibility, metrics, and category strategies.
Technology and Risk
- Lead transformation through digital platforms, automation, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Identify AI applications in sourcing intelligence, demand forecasting, supplier risk assessment, spend analytics, and contract management.
- Drive technology adoption and change management to deliver commercial and operational outcomes.
- Diversify sourcing to mitigate supplier concentration, commodity volatility, geopolitical uncertainty, and supply disruptions.
- Strengthen supplier due diligence, compliance, quality assurance, and business continuity; integrate risk intelligence and scenario planning.
Candidate Profile
- At least 18 years of relevant experience in global or regional procurement, strategic sourcing, or a related commercial function in FMCG, food, foodservice, or complex multi-category businesses.
- Regional Head, Group Head, or C-suite experience and ability to influence senior stakeholders and partner with the CEO.
- Proven experience managing substantial global or regional procurement spend; USD 500 million–1 billion or more is ideal.
- Strong multi-country sourcing experience across complex supplier ecosystems and high-volume, diverse SKU portfolios.
- Record of building and transforming procurement organizations, leading large teams, and developing scalable operating models.
- Experience implementing procurement technology, digitalization, automation, or AI-enabled solutions.
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, analytical capability, strategic decision-making, and hands-on leadership.
- Protein sourcing, including meat, poultry, or seafood, is a significant advantage.
