Overview
A multinational investment and commodities group with operations across the United Arab Emirates, West Africa, the UK, and emerging global markets is seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer to lead the next phase of growth within its precious metals and bullion platform.
Key responsibilities
- include:
- Lead the operational scale-up of an institutional-grade gold trading and commodities business across sourcing, refining, logistics, treasury, and settlement functions.
- Drive LBMA-aligned operational readiness, including responsible sourcing, traceability frameworks, audit preparedness, and refinery coordination.
- Build and oversee front, middle, and back-office operating structures with strong governance, segregation of duties, and institutional control standards.
- Establish and maintain multi-jurisdictional compliance frameworks covering AML/CFT, KYC, OECD Responsible Sourcing Guidance, and regulatory licensing obligations.
- Manage strategic relationships with institutional buyers, refinery partners, vaulting providers, logistics operators, and trade finance institutions.
- Oversee operational integration between physical bullion holdings and emerging digital asset infrastructure, ensuring custody integrity and reconciliation discipline.
- Lead operational risk management across counterparty exposure, settlement processes, custody arrangements, FX management, and gold-price risk controls.
- Recruit and develop high-performance operational teams across Dubai, Accra, and London while embedding a culture of precision, accountability, compliance, and execution excellence.
