Chief Accountant

Location:** Al Ain, UAE

• Financial Reporting & Accounting

• Lead all accounting activities across multiple branches and business units.
• Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing.
• Prepare detailed Management Accounts and Financial Statements.
• Produce branch-level Profit & Loss Statements.
• Maintain General Ledger accuracy and integrity.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and month-end closing procedures.
• Review journal entries, accruals, prepayments, provisions, and depreciation schedules.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS standards and UAE accounting regulations.

Financial Planning & Analysis (Fp&A)

• Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
• Conduct variance analysis between actual and budgeted performance.
• Prepare executive-level financial presentations.
• Deliver profitability analysis by:
• Branch
• Product Category
• Individual SKU
• Sales Channel
• Delivery Platform
• Provide strategic recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
• Build financial models to support expansion projects and new branch openings.

Cost Control & Profitability Management

• Establish and monitor:
• Food Cost %
• Beverage Cost %
• Packaging Cost %
• Labor Cost %
• Occupancy Cost %
• EBITDA
• Analyze recipe costing and menu engineering.
• Monitor gross profit margins and contribution margins.
• Identify wastage, leakage, shrinkage, and operational inefficiencies.
• Implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality.

Inventory & Supply Chain Finance

• Develop inventory control systems across all branches.
• Monitor stock movements and inventory turnover.
• Reconcile theoretical versus actual consumption.
• Investigate inventory variances and stock losses.
• Conduct periodic stock audits and cycle counts.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to optimize purchasing costs.
• Develop inventory forecasting models.

Taxation & Regulatory Compliance

• Manage UAE VAT compliance and submissions.
• Manage UAE Corporate Tax compliance and reporting.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors.
• Ensure full compliance with UAE laws and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain documentation supporting all tax filings.

Systems & Digital Transformation

• Lead implementation, optimization, and maintenance of:
• Zoho Books
• Zoho Analytics
• ERP Systems
• POS Integrations

• Financial Reporting Dashboards

• Develop automated financial reporting systems.
• Improve data accuracy and reporting efficiency.
• Design executive dashboards for real-time business monitoring.

Internal Controls & Risk Management

• Design and implement internal control frameworks.
• Develop financial policies and procedures.
• Establish approval matrices and spending controls.
• Monitor fraud prevention measures.
• Strengthen governance across all financial activities.
• Ensure proper segregation of duties and accountability.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

• Manage daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow planning.
• Forecast working capital requirements.
• Monitor banking relationships and facilities.
• Optimize liquidity and cash utilization.
• Ensure timely payment of suppliers and financial obligations.

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead and develop the finance department.
• Supervise accountants, storekeepers, and finance support staff.
• Establish performance metrics and accountability standards.
• Train teams on financial procedures and controls.
• Promote a culture of accuracy, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• Professional qualification mandatory:
• ACCA
• CPA
• CMA
• CA
• MBA is considered a strong advantage.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 7–10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
• Minimum 3 years in a senior finance leadership position.
• Proven experience within:
• Multi-branch Restaurants
• Cafés
• Hospitality
• Retail Chains

Experience With Brands Such As

• Starbucks
• Costa Coffee
• Tim Hortons
• KFC
• Pizza Hut
• McDonald’s
• Americana
• Alshaya
• Similar regional or international F&B groups
• will be highly preferred.
