Leads pastry preparation and culinary staff while personally performing baking and food preparation tasks.
Maintains guest and employee satisfaction, operating budget, sanitation, and food standards.
Education and experience
- High school diploma or GED and four years of related culinary, food and beverage, or professional-area experience.
- Alternatively, a 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major and two years of related experience.
Team leadership and operations
- Manage daily operations, supervise food preparation staff, and lead shifts while preparing food.
- Train, coach, and develop employees; support staffing reviews, interviews, and hiring.
- Promote collaboration, maintain employee productivity, and address team concerns.
Culinary standards and service
- Prepare pastries and other foods, check product quality, and create food presentations and displays.
- Maintain food handling, storage, temperature, sanitation, and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with applicable food and beverage policies and regulations.
- Respond to guest needs and coach staff to improve service and satisfaction.
Budget, safety, and administration
- Manage purchasing, receiving, inventory, supplies, portion control, and waste according to budget.
- Set goals, review staffing levels, and support financial and operational objectives.
- Train employees in safety procedures, complete disciplinary documentation, and attend relevant meetings.

- Full-time schedule.
