Overview

  • Prepare menu items within the assigned section according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation for all items.
  • Manage mise en place and ensure readiness for service at all times.
  • Coordinate with the chef, dispatcher and other sections to ensure timely order execution.
  • Monitor inventory, stock levels and communicate requisitions based on section needs.
  • Minimize waste and control food cost within the section.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and hygiene in the work area.
  • Ensure proper food handling, storage, and FIFO compliance.
  • Supervise and support commis chefs within the section.
  • Follow kitchen SOPs, hygiene and safety standards.
  • Assist in training junior staff and maintaining performance standards.
  • Take responsibility for troubleshooting issues in the station during service.
