- Prepare menu items within the assigned section according to recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation for all items.
- Manage mise en place and ensure readiness for service at all times.
- Coordinate with the chef, dispatcher and other sections to ensure timely order execution.
- Monitor inventory, stock levels and communicate requisitions based on section needs.
- Minimize waste and control food cost within the section.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and hygiene in the work area.
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and FIFO compliance.
- Supervise and support commis chefs within the section.
- Follow kitchen SOPs, hygiene and safety standards.
- Assist in training junior staff and maintaining performance standards.
- Take responsibility for troubleshooting issues in the station during service.
