Position summary
Prepare and cook food, including special meals, substitutes, and cold foods, in accordance with recipes and quality and presentation standards.
Culinary duties
- Regulate oven, broiler, grill, and roaster temperatures; move frozen food to refrigerator storage to thaw.
- Ensure correct portions, arrangement, and garnishes; monitor food quality and quantity; maintain food logs.
- Communicate assistance needs during busy periods and inform the Chef of excess food for daily specials.
- Tell Food and Beverage staff about menu specials and out-of-stock items.
Team, service, and safety
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, coaching, and motivating employees.
- Follow safety and security procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions; complete safety training.
- Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality, protect company assets, anticipate guest needs, and communicate professionally.
- Build positive working relationships, support team goals, and meet quality expectations.
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods; perform bending, reaching, and similar physical tasks; move objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
Preferred qualifications
- A technical, trade, or vocational school degree is preferred.
- At least 3 years of related work experience is preferred.
- No supervisory experience is specified; no license or certification is listed.
