Key Duties
- Prepare special meals or replacement dishes.
- Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasting ovens.
- Take stored food out of the freezer and place it in the refrigerator to thaw.
- Ensure portions, presentation, and garnishes are properly prepared.
- Maintain food logs.
- Monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food.
- Indicate when help is needed during busy periods.
- Inform the chef of surplus food products to use in daily specials.
- Inform Food and Beverage service staff of removed items and menu specials.
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
- Prepare cold foods.
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, motivating, and coaching employees, and serve as a role model.
Recommended Qualifications
- Education: Diploma from a technical, trade, or vocational school.
- Related work experience: At least 3 years of related work experience.
- Supervisory experience: None.
- License or certification: None.
Safety and Compliance
Follow and apply all chain safety policies and procedures.
Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and any working conditions considered hazardous.
Follow training and obtain required safety certifications.
Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
Preserve confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
Physical Requirements
Accustomed to working standing, sitting, and moving for long periods of time.
Reach objects above the head and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds (11.4 kg) without assistance.
Perform other reasonable tasks as requested by supervisors.
