Sell and advise clients on premium Afghan rugs, including Khal Mohammadi, Kazak, Mauri, and Baluch styles.
Client advice and selling
- Explain rug origins, tribal symbolism, weaving techniques, and historical context.
- Evaluate interior dimensions and lighting to recommend palettes, knot density, and rug placement.
Authentication and care
- Identify hand-knotted versus machine-made construction; assess wool quality, natural dyes, and rug value.
- Advise on preservation, professional washing, and repair of handmade carpets.
Inventory and procurement
- Assist with sourcing, grading, and managing regional collections, including climate-controlled storage and display.
Compensation
- Pay is QAR 1,700–3,000 per month.
Workplace
- Work is in person.
Requirements
- Knowledge of premium Afghan rug origins, tribal symbolism, weaving techniques, and historical context.
- Ability to distinguish hand-knotted from machine-made rugs and assess wool quality, natural dyes, and rug value.
- Ability to assess interior dimensions and lighting to recommend rug colors, knot density, and placement.
- Knowledge of preservation, professional washing, and repair processes for handmade carpets.
- Ability to assist with sourcing, grading, and management of regional rug collections.
